Day 1

Upon exiting the Kotoka International Airport, you will be met with a warm smile from the lovely tour guide. Considering you may be hungry from such a long flight, your tour guide will take you to Buka, a popular Afrocentric restaurant that serves a wide range of mouth-watering delicacies for your first Ghanaian meal. You will enjoy a delicious meal featuring traditional Ghanaian dishes, including jollof rice, Banku, Fufu, and grilled tilapia. Savor the flavors and spices of West African cuisine and experience the vibrant culinary culture of Ghana.

Day 2

Welcome to Accra, the vibrant capital city of Ghana!  You will have the chance to explore the Capital, (Accra City Tour ).First, we will visit the W.E.B Dubois Centre, which was named after the famous American civil rights activist who chose to live in Ghana towards the end of his life. The center serves as a museum and research center, with exhibitions showcasing Dubois’ life and work, as well as Ghana’s history and culture. Next, we will head to the Arts Centre, a vibrant marketplace in the heart of Accra that showcases the work of Ghanaian artists and craftsmen. Here, you can shop for traditional clothing, handmade jewelry, carved wooden sculptures, and other unique souvenirs.  And later in the day, you will then take an hour and forty-five minutes drive to the Village.

Day 3

Alice’s social education involves giving back to the community, thus as part of our experience today, we will visit a library that was commissioned by her foundation, for the 1st Anniversary of Juliana Frimpomaa Library.)

Day 4

Today, you will make your way to Kwahu in the Eastern Region. Today’s tour will take you in and around Kwahu Township. Here you will have the chance to learn more about the people of this Town, their main source of livelihood.

After lunch today, you will visit, tour and learn about the Abetifi Stone Age Park.

Day 6

Today, you’ll embark on a journey back to Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Kingdom. Upon arriving in Kumasi, you will tour the Manhyia Palace Museum, the residence of the Ashanti king. Learn about the history and culture of the Ashanti people, the Adinkra symbols and admire the impressive architecture of the palace.

Day 7

It’s Kente day today. Kente is the traditional attire for the people of the Ashanti kingdom. Get ready for a day of cultural immersion! You will start your morning with a visit to the Kente Village, where you can witness the traditional process of kente weaving and even try your hand at it. Next, you will experience an authentic naming ceremony called the Sankofa naming ceremony. This ceremony is a powerful way to connect with your African roots and embrace your identity. With a new name, you’ll feel more connected than ever to the rich cultural heritage of Ghana. You will then have a homestay style dinner with a Ghanaian family for an insight into Ghanaian Customs, cooking and family life. You will also have the chance to learn the Adowa Dance, a traditional dance of the Asante’s.

Day 8

On Day 8 of your tour, you will journey to Cape Coast, a city in Ghana that was once a major center for the transatlantic slave trade. With its unique architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Cape Coast is a must-visit destination. Along the way, you will stop at the Assin Manso slave river, where enslaved Africans took their last bath before getting on the ship to the Americas. You’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with your ancestors and learn about this dark period in history. At Cape Coast Castle,one of the most well-known slave castles, you’ll take a guided tour, hear stories of resilience.

Day 9

Experience the beauty of nature as we venture into the Kakum Forest Reserve today. Take a guided tour on the canopy walkway suspended over the trees and enjoy the breathtaking view of the rainforest. Afterwards, we’ll visit the Elmina Castle, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, which played a significant role in the transatlantic slave trade. You will learn about the history and stories of the castle’s past and reflect on the impact of slavery on the present-day world.

Day 10

Today, you’ll embark on a scenic drive back to Accra, where you’ll spend your final hours in Ghana. Make the most of your hours in the country by indulging in some fun activities, shopping for souvenirs, and reflecting on all the incredible experiences you’ve had during your trip. Next you will make a stop at the Independence square, where thousands of Ghanaians stood as Ghana was declared independent. You will depart from Ghana, carrying with you unforgettable memories of your journey through this beautiful country and its rich history and culture.
